Sharon Bopp

Sharon Bopp is president of Bopp Communications, a West Virginia firm founded in 1998 that offers copywriting and traditional and social media marketing, as well as content for feature articles, artist biographies, online product descriptions, e-newsletters, social media posts and more. Sharon’s clients work in a variety of industries including e-commerce, gifts, marketing, manufacturing, publishing, home décor and specialty foods

Sharon is a creative, organized and experienced writer with strong business, publishing, marketing and social media knowledge. She can work independently or in a team environment. Her major strengths include:

As Editor-in-Chief of Chicago-based Country Business magazine (now Smart Business), she supervised the editorial functions of a 25,000-circulation trade magazine in the gift industry. While in that position, she introduced special reports and new departments. Sharon also reported on consumer and gift trends, presented gift industry seminars and did media interviews. In addition, she founded the Journal of the American Professional Crafters Guild, a national publication to educate and promote professional crafters.

After relocating from Los Angeles to Chicago, Sharon contracted with Arthur Andersen & Co. (now Accenture). She was engaged to research and write content for Andersen Consulting digital media that provided client engagement training for the firm’s global consulting staff.

While based in the Los Angeles area, Sharon served as Founding Partner and Executive Editor of Southern California-based TEMPO Journal – a monthly arts, entertainment and literary publication. In her position, she hired writers, photographers, poets and artists; generated and assigned story ideas; and negotiated writing contracts.

Prior to that, Sharon served as Managing Editor for two SoCal community news monthlies – Rancho Cucamonga Magazine and Upland Magazine. Within one year, she was promoted from Writer to Editor to Managing Editor.

A graduate of Marycrest College in Davenport, Iowa, Sharon has a B.A. in Communications/Print Journalism.
