Diane Carnevale Jones
Diane Carnevale Jones is the owner of Carnevale Jones Group LLC and the former owner of Professional Marketing, an award-winning custom boutique PR and marketing firm, which she operated for nearly 30 years. Diane is proud to launch The Writers Consortium, which fills a void within many industries in need of top-tier writers. Companies will be thrilled with the depth and breadth of writing services offered – and the talented team Diane invited to collaborate with her on this venture.
Diane has fond memories of her four years of teaching high school English and journalism. She served as both the yearbook and newspaper advisor and vowed never to work on long-term publishing projects, after her students misplaced the yearbook’s color transparencies – which were irreplaceable. Fortunately, the transparencies were located, and Diane’s memory of those years faded….
Fast-forward 10 years, and Diane’s fear of long-term publishing projects was a distant memory. Diane became the second executive director of the Collectors’ Information Bureau (CIB), a not-for-profit trade organization serving the collectibles industry. Her entrepreneurial spirit immediately kicked into gear. During her tenure, she added three new book titles and edited 30 books and over 20 quarterly magazines. Over 400,000 publications were sold and distributed.
As the owner of Professional Marketing, Diane and her team wrote press releases, promotional literature, television scripts, press conference scripts, branding reports, business releases and crisis communications releases. She has also been invited to pen numerous articles for trade publications. Diane enjoys the challenge of pitching news to the national media. Her claims to fame include Oprah’s Favorite Holiday Picks, The USA Today and providing the late Jeffrey Zaslow (co-author, The Last Lecture) with interviewees for his Wall Street Journal column.
Diane has always been fascinated with the strategy behind the written word: the importance of carefully choosing the appropriate voice to represent a client; the challenge of writing a riveting newswire business release; the emotional impact that a story can evoke in the non-profit world; the excitement conveyed to the consumer or retailer when a new product is launched.
Overseeing two trade organizations in the gift and home space during her career provided Diane with a unique perspective of these industries and the companies within, and with her ability to understand the complexities of the topics she writes. She also credits her five years of working with the eBay Corporate Communications department and its PR agency of record for helping her to identify trend data for the Antique, Collectibles and Home categories.
Diane is happiest when working on writing assignments in multiple industries: business, manufacturing, non-profit and consumer goods.
